One is in Lowell where around 30 cats were found in an abandoned home, and the second is at a home in Grand Rapids where they found 15 to 30 cats. The fee for adopting a dog from the Animal Shelter is 130.00, kittens under four months of age are 40, and cats over four months of age are 5. They are also currently investigating two other situations. The Kent County Animal Shelter said they deal with hoarding situations around once a month. "We do know now that they are receiving the best of care, and they all have bright futures ahead of them, so that is something we can be happy for," said Hollinshead.
